Doors Are Opening is committed to making infrastructural and technological improvements in America.

Our founder, Elizabeth Muhammad-Park, is a multilingual blind traveler who has visited several countries and wondered why she feels more comfortable traveling abroad than she does in her own hometown.

  • The answer: most developed countries are more accessible and welcoming to people with disabilities. Let's add the United States to that list!

About Us

Doors Are Opening prioritizes independence for people with disabilities. We live in a world that too often forgets that anyone can acquire a disability at any time. Think about inaccessibility before it affects you. Our mission is to increase the independence of people with disabilities in large public spaces by advocating for advancements in infrastructure and technology. Every U.S. city should be accessible for everyone, so let's work together to make change happen now.
